Cash The Climber

My baby boy (he'll be 18 months old on Friday!!) has learned to crawl up on the table and the counter!  I tend to have a lot of spray tans here at our house Thursday nights...which is also men's golf league.  Last Thursday I had the boys by myself and 22 spray tans!  I did a few tans and came up once and found Cash standing on the island counter!  I about screamed! I had no idea how he did this until I caught him doing again and again and again!!  Needless to say I called in a friend to help me watch the boys the rest of that night since I obviously cannot trust him!!!  It will be a babysitter night from here on out!

Here he is getting on the table.  You can't see her but Ella (daycare girl) was eating her breakfast and he thought he could get a piece!  I caught him just in time....then snapped a picture;)

 He wasn't very happy I caught him!  I moved the chairs and he still pushes them up to the counter and/or table and gets up there.....

I have to be on my toes with this kid!  Pierce never...never did this!  Cash is into so much more and has no fear!  Pierce is still my scardy cat:)  I'm thinking Pierce gets that from his mama!

On a different note....tonight is my favorite day of the week....or would be if I didn't have work on Thursdays!!!  Hello ladies golf night!!

Memorial Day/Ozarks

We had a fabulous weekend away in the Ozark's.  We went with my brother (Jacob) and sister-in-law (Amy) and her parents (Craig & Debbie)!  Craig & Debbie have a very nice house right on the water and a boat they keep down there!  It was a relaxing weekend with sleeping in til 8:30 (YAY), boating during the day, stopping in at all the fun bars on the water, then going home for s'mores and falling asleep (or passing out) at 9pm;)

Here's Amy cutting up limes for our tequila shots!  I haven't done a tequila shot FOREVER but decided I'd humor Amy and take one!  I quickly had flashbacks of having too much tequila in high school I mean college and getting sick from it!  That's why I don't drink hard alcohol;)

I got too much sun Sunday on the boat and actually was really close to passing out Monday morning when I woke up.  I'm pissed at myself for getting that burnt:(  I've been miserable all day today!  If I don't keep up with Ibuprofen I get nauseous and feel faint again.  I'm hoping tomorrow is much better because I have a busy day!  I'm taking on extra daycare kids and then heading to Sigourney for 20 spray tans!  Might have to wear my stretchy pants because my legs are the worst:)

The boys had a great weekend with Grandma & Grandpa Heitman and LynDee & Jeremy!  We are so lucky to have great family willing to take the kids if we need them to!  We really, really appreciate it!

Sunglasses

As I mentioned in an earlier post....we are going to the Ozarks over Memorial Day weekend (can you tell I'm excited?!).  It's a weekend away without the kids!  I love my kids to death but I need a little R&R.  We are going with my brother (Jacob) and his wife (Amy) and Amy's parents.  They have a house and boat down there so we are free-loading all weekend!  We were invited....so I guess that's different...right?! :)

Anyway...on my one night at home this week (Monday night) I went shopping for weekend supplies.  I am a freak about sunglasses.  I wear them all year long b/c my eyes are sensitive.  I have one pair I absolutely love and I decided I will not be taking them to the lake so I bought some cheapies at Wal-mart ($5!).  They are exactly like the ones I already have and love so I thought they were perfect! 

It wasn't until I was checking out that I realized there was a little rhinestone 'K' on them!  Ummmmm....PERFECT!!  I looked all over for the brand and couldn't fine one!  The only brand I could think of was Kardashian....and I don't think they have a line of accessories at Wal-Mart;) 

Regardless I'm pretty excited I got sunglasses I like for $5 and they have my initial on them!  Can't beat that!  Plus...if they get lost in the lake I won't feel terrible!  I know where to go another pair;)

Busy night tonight with 22 spray tans here at my house!  Someone is hosting a spray tanning party here then I opened up the rest of the night with $10 tans.  If you want to join in on the fun I have appointments available 9:20pm, 9:30pm & 9:40pm!  Let me know!!

Candlelit Snack

Travis and I haven't had too much time together lately because we are both busy.  I was at my sisters Sunday afternoon with Pierce so Cash and Travis had supper ready when we got home.....steak fajitas, watermelon and broccoli with cheese (the only way I'll eat it!).  Travis decided to make it a candlelit dinner....I was SHOCKED because he does NOT have a romantic bone in his body!  It was very sweet but we laughed all through dinner because Pierce was all concerned about whose birthday it was and who was going to blow out the candles!  At the end of dinner we let him blow them out!

 So.....it's Wednesday and the candles still sit here....I honestly don't know where he got them!  Every day for breakfast, AMsnack, lunch, PMsnack and supper Pierce asks if we can sing 'Happy Birthday' and blow out the candles!  For snack on Tuesday I let Pierce, Ella and Cash have a candlelit snack!  They loved it and enjoyed blowing the candles out even more!

Happy Wednesday!  I love Wednesdays because it means I get to golf with my girls:) WOO-HOO!!!!

Night At Home!

Last night I had a last minute cancellation with a spray tan party and to tell you the truth I was a little relieved....not because I don't enjoy a spray tanning party but because I wasn't going to have one night at home this week!  I'm glad I actually get a night at home...which turned into a Walmart & Target run!  I'm home all day but don't have the freedom to get groceries or leave!  Cash & I headed out to do that and Travis and Pierce tended to the garden!

 A few random things....my mom stopped by last week with these peonies and I LOVE them!  They look so pretty and smell awesome!!  They brighten up the whole kitchen!  She has a few bushes at her house so I hope this isn't the last delivery;)

Sunday afternoon my sister had a 31 (bag) party and a Scentsy party.  She's still losing weight so she said she had totes for me to go through!  I was excited!  I came home with ALL this!  I didn't want to take a picture of each shirt but there are some gems in there!  There are 11 shirts from The Loft alone!  I love reaping the benefits of my sisters shopping addiction;)

There was a few swim suits and 2 swim suit cover-ups (so cute!).  Perfect timing because we are going to The Ozarks this weekend (YAHOO)!

There are some dresses in there....I think I counted 10 ribbed tank-tops (hardly worn) and much much more!

Keep up the good work Kellie;)  I'll give you as many free spray tans as you want!!

As you can see my "night at home" also consisted of going through my room!  Thinking I need to get rid of some of my shirts just to fit all my new ones in!!

Picnic In The Park

We didn't have anything  to do on Saturday morning so we invited our friends (Demi, Karli & Stacy) to the park to play and for a picnic!  The kids get along great and they had a lot of fun!

It was a great day in the park and we're lucky to have such a nice city park!  The boys played hard...then napped hard...for 3 hours:)  It was a good Saturday afternoon!

Window Decal

I have been wanting to do something on my vehicle for Spray Chick for a while now so I called up a few friends and found Stephanie Weick out of Marengo!  She did this decal for me and I LOVE it! 

We've had it for a few weeks now but I finally got my husband to put it on!  Just thought I'd share:)

Big Helper

In case any of you were wondering what our other child is up to here he is!  We put him to work:)

Pierce LOVES being outside and doing anything to help out!  We have a garden and that's all he talks about!  I hope this worker-bee in him continues all through his life! Probably wishful thinking!

Happy Saturday all!  I'm so happy to not get up at 6am for a shower!  Although my kids are still up I don't have to shower and get ready:)  We have my cousin Lily's graduation this afternoon and then I'm off to my cousin Allison's bachelorette party!  It's a "toy" party so I'm a little nervous;)

The Joys of a 18mo Old!

I have always said my least favorite age of children is between 12 months and 24 months.....only because they are testing every single limit and getting away with most of it because they are so darn cute!!  I feel like Cash thinks his name is "NO" or "GET OUT OF THERE!"  He has been testing EVERY limit lately and I'd like to share a few:)

First of all he's a bully:(  He hits, pushes, sits on, pulls hair and anything else he can do to other kids.  Makes me very sad but I try to give my attention and affection towards his victims!  It's still not working but I'm hoping it will catch on soon!

He also loves pushing buttons (and not just mine!).  He knows how to switch the TV to other components and loves watching the daycare kids freak out when Dora gets shut off!  I bet I have to correct this problem (on average) 10 times a day!  If I leave my purse hanging on a chair or anywhere in his reach he empties the whole thing out and scatters it all over the house!  My purse is feeling lighter lately but I haven't figured out what's missing!  He's into all my cupboards and drawers!  I know it's good to let your kids play with pots and pans and stuff but I'm such a clean freak I have to wash everything he touches or it can't go back into the cupboard!  Our dishwasher is full all the time and I'm getting really tired of that!  We have locks on certain cupboards and drawers but not all! 

In this particular drawer is bibs and oven mitts!  Nothing exciting but it's his height and he enjoy getting stuff out of there!  Well he pulled on it one too many times and completely ripped the whole face off!  Travis was not happy b/c he's the one that has to fix it....I was not happy b/c my drawer was exposed!!  Travis fixed it and it looks so much better!

His latest new naughty thing to do is pulling the vents out of the floor and putting toys down them!  In his defense the vents are not attached to the floor so once he figured out he can do it of course he's going to do it again & again & again & again!!!

Needless to say at the end of the day I'm ready for a spray tanning party OUT of the house and some adult time!  It's a good thing he's so cute and I love him so much:)

Hair Cuts

Giving the boys a bath the other day I realized they were in need of a hair cut!  I was checking with our stylist and coming up with times when I realized I already made appointments for the boys on May 31st....like 3 months ago! 

Pierce was asked to be in my cousin Allison's wedding June 2nd under one stipulation...he has to have a  mohawk:)  Pierce rocked the mohawk last year and everyone loved it.  I figured I'd better make an appointment a couple days before her wedding for the mohawk cut!  I totally forgot I did that so I was happy to see I was on top of things for once!

I decided I'm going to let Cash have a mohawk as well...he's been begging me for one;)  Can't wait for May 31st to see how they both look!!

This is Pierce with his mohawk last year.  This was a professional picture and he is AWFUL during photo shoots so this was the best we got!  I still think it's pretty cute:)  Reminds me of the movie Stand By Me for some reason!  The white t-shirt is what triggers the movie!

Love Wednesday NIGHTS!

It's that time of year.....golf season is about to begin!  Women's golf league meeting is tonight (with a playful round of golf) then we start our actual league next week!  I am so excited and giddy today!! 

It's a great chance to get out of the house, hang out with a fun group of ladies and consume some adult beverages....all the while having a great time golfing!

I wasn't sure I was going to be able to make it tonight but my mom is a great lady and is watching the boys!  Travis has a fire meeting (we run into this every other Wednesday!) and I have spray tan parties every other night this week.  I kind of have mothers guilt about leaving the boys on the only night I have free.....but I quickly snapped out of it and realized I'm with my kids ALL day and being gone a few hours at night isn't harmful to them;) 

SO.....cheers to you Wednesday!  Bring on the golf season!



5 Years Of Wedded Bliss!

June 2nd, 2007 Travis and I said I Do!  This June will be 5 years and I've got quite the surprise for Travis!  Saturday, June 2nd (our actual anniversary) my cousin Allison gets married.  I'm pretty excited we have an excuse to get all dressed up....plus we get a free dinner and dance to follow;)  Travis obviously knows about all this and he knows we are taking off Sunday afternoon for a night out in Des Moines...but he doesn't know I've booked a couples massage Monday morning!  I know I'm going to LOVE it and I really hope he does too!  Not sure what else we're going to do but I'm sure it'll be fun! 

Mother's Day WEEKEND

I had the most amazing mother's day weekend!  Friday night we went to our nieces birthday party and had a good time with family!  Saturday morning Travis let me sleep in and he made me breakfast:)  I went to lunch at Charolette's in North Liberty (love that place) with friends then we went and got our nails done!  It was relaxing and fun!  We shopped and I actually got things for myself...and for the boys as always!  Came home, picked up a babysitter and went golfing w/ Travis and my brother and sister-in-law.  We had a great time and the weather was perfect!  We grabbed some adult beverages and supper after golfing!  Sunday we went to church, then raced to Red Lobster (I knew they opened at 11am and there was going to be a wait.  We left Williamsburg at 10:45 and we made it there by 11:05!)  We were NOT messing around;)  We went shopping at a few places then home for naps!  We had my cousins graduation party Sunday afternoon then went to my parents for a BBQ.  It was such a good weekend!  I am so lucky to have my boys and a wonderful husband!  I also need to give a shout out to my mom.  I wrote this in her card and it's 100% true..."I would be lost without her!"  She's not only a great mom and grandma but she's also one of my best friends!  She only lives 5 minutes away from me and we still talk every day and see each other 3-4 times a week!  Love you mom!!! 

Garage Sale/Spray Tans

So I have garage sale on my mind and tonight we are starting the big process of setting up!

Here's a rundown of items I am selling....boys clothes size newborn to 2T, coats (kids & adults), smart cycle, diaper bags, breast pump, boy crib bedding set, socks and onesies galore, dog kennel, purses, coolers and shoes (all sizes). 

There are multiple families having this garage sale with me so other items that might interest you are all things kid, girls clothing size newborn to 5T, women's clothing, couch, love seat, end table, crib, tivo and car seat set with base!

HOURS: Thursday 6pm-8:30pm; Friday 9am-??pm (as long as people are here we'll be open!); Saturday 8am-12pm.  LOCATION: 904 North Street.  If none of these items interest you please let others know if it would interest them!  Thanks!

During the garage sale I am offering $15 spray tans to anyone that wants one!!  Even if you only want the spray tan...stop in!

Measurements

I found this beauty at a vendor event in Williamsburg!  It's an old barn board they made into a measuring tool!  I saw it and bought it right away!

 We decided we better get it hung and start adding the boys heights to it!

 Both boys were super excited to have this in their room and Cash wanted to be measured right along with Pierce!

 When it came time to measure Cash he went limp! Typical;)  We got it though!

 Really wish I would have had this from the very beginning but oh well!  It will still be fun from here on out!

We do not own a scale (for many reasons) but Travis wants to keep track of their weight also so I guess I'll be forced to buy one! I will not be stepping on it!
