Big Changes...

I mentioned in my previous blog there has been so many changes in our lives since I last blogged.
I'll get to the changes in a little bit but first I want to share our anniversary fun!

Travis and I celebrated 10 years of marriage on June 2nd.
If someone would have told me 10 years ago that we'd have a baby on our 10 year anniversary I would have laughed in their face!
But here we are, killing parenthood... bahahahaha!!

Around our 9 year anniversary we started planning a trip to Mexico with Westfalls and Wardenburgs.
We all were celebrating some big milestones so we went big!

In February 2017 we took off for Mexico!
We had the best time and our resort was amazing.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Each morning one of the guys would go down early in the dark and place our towels on our lounge chairs.  We'd meet for breakfast at 9am and resume our positions on the chairs for the day!
It.Was.Awesome.
Every night we would try a new place to eat... and then go to bed shortly after from all our day shenanigans... HAHA!!

Here's (some of) our trip in pics....
Bright and early flight!
Totally worth it for this...
The water was beautiful!
Catamaran day! The water was beautiful!
A lot of drinks... a lot of drinks!

We wouldn't have survived if it wasn't for this swim up bar!
One day our resort hosted a foam party... it was a blast!
We were there over the super bowl and they put on a great party!
We watched the game on a big screen outside on the beach...PERFECT!
Housekeeping heard about our anniversary so we got some goodies!
There are 100 more pictures I wanted to share but I'll leave it at that for now!
Such a fun group to be with!

10 years sure did fly!
We've created a pretty great life and we are definitely blessed!

******************************
Now... onto the changes!
After 8.5 years of doing daycare in my home I decided it was time to be done.
I enjoyed it while it lasted but it was time to move on.

This was my last day with my crew....
Yes, all of them came to my house!
Not all on the same day and some were before and after school, but they were all "my kids!"
It was very hard to say goodbye because this was, by far, the best group I've had!
Not only are the kids wonderful but their parents were equally as amazing!
I still talk to and see all of them regularly!

If I can give you any advice it's be good to your daycare providers!
It's a tough gig and they need your support!

******************************

My last day of daycare was February 2nd...
February 3rd I jumped on a plane to Mexico...
February 10th I returned from Mexico...
and February 13th I started my dream job at Ackerman Plumbing!
What a whirlwind of emotions my body went through that week but it was all worth it!
That's me.... Director of First Impressions!
I could not be happier with my decision!
I'm a better wife, mom, friend and all around better person because of this move.
The company I now work for is amazing and it's the perfect fit for me!

I'd be lying if I said the transition was smooth... because it was not!
We've never had to have daycare, let alone pay for it!

I was shuttling Kroy to Brittany's daycare 3 times a week and to my mom's twice a week. Plus hauling Pierce and Cash out to my parents to catch the bus.
Luckily Travis is off work at 3:30pm so he was home when the boys got home from school!

And things have settled down since Kroy started his permanent daycare at Susie's in June!
The older boys are spending a few days at my moms this summer and we have a high-schooler coming in 3 days a week.  Elias is awesome with the boys and they look forward to him coming!

So, for now, things are going smooth...
...until school starts in August and we start the rat race again!

But until then I'm going to enjoy it!

Thanks for staying with me on these marathon posts!
They'll get shorter...I promise!
{These catch-ups are hard to contain!}

Heitman Boys Catch Up

Nevermind me and the six month break I took from the blog... oops!

The good news is I'm back and playing some major catch-up!

So much has happened in six months... SO MUCH!
But for now I'm going to highlight the boys and their big events.

PIERCE!

Pierce made his First Communion in May.
This is a big deal in the catholic church because now he can walk up front during communion and eat the "bread!"

Pierce's suit he wore was his cousin Nick and Luke's.
Our nephew Kahne also wore it!
I'd love to keep it in the family and have Cash wear it in two years but at the rate he's growing that's never going to happen!

Pierce looked so handsome!

Buddies Sawyer, Rogan and Pierce
{Pierce and Rogan were baptized together...wish I would have taken of picture of them then!}

Cousin Makenna

Cousin Keston

Kroy couldn't hang!

Great Grandma Spratt... and the most genuine smile from Pierce the whole day!

My cousin Ryan and I made our First communion 27 years ago and our kids made theirs together!

CASH!

In June Cash was ring bearer in my cousin Lindsey's wedding.
I'm a little biased here but I'm pretty sure he was the cutest ring bearer EVER and she was the most beautiful bride!

Cousin Marley was the flower girl and they both did awesome!

I just can't take it!

Too cute!

The reception was in a barn... with no air... and it was 90 some degrees!
Kroy ditched his shirt!
And we all had fun regardless of the heat!

Don't mind the blurry bear paw and naked baby... bahahahaha!!

The Spratt's always know how to have a good time and we did not disappoint this time!
So much fun!!

KROY!

I cannot believe this happened already but my baby turned one!
Pretty sure that was the fastest year of my life!

His birthday was on a Thursday and he was extra crabby...boo!
We took him to the doctor and he was diagnosed with double ear infection.
His first ear infection... on his first birthday:(

That night he was a bear and with baseball practice and an early bedtime for Kroy, we didn't get to celebrate at all.  I had a really hard time with this.. I actually cried a little when I put him to bed because we didn't do anything special.
Travis reassured me he has no clue it's even his birthday and we were going to celebrate that weekend.

By the time his party rolled around he was feeling much better...
...but he wasn't sure what to think...
Once he got a taste of the good stuff he dove right in!
Proud big brothers!

Mmmmmmmmm.....
{All was fine and dandy until he broke out in hives from the cake! No known allergies but he reacted to something...ugh!}

He's been having so much fun playing with all his new toys!

My friend Stacy took his one year photos and they turned out awesome!
This poor kid doesn't have one picture up in our house yet {third kid probz} so I'm hoping to get them ordered ASAP and showing him off!
He is pretty cute:)

My fav!!

Thank you Stacy for the most amazing pictures!

He's been such a happy baby and I cannot wait to see the trouble he gets into as a toddler!

Thanks to everyone who has been asking me to update the blog!
I really do love doing it and I love looking back at older posts even more!

I'm hoping to update even more very soon!!

Thanksgiving Weekend 2016

The weekend before Thanksgiving we took a little day trip to Dyersville.
Our first stop was the The National Farm Toy Museum.
Pierce and Travis loved it!!
{Cash, Kroy and myself wondered around...}
Pierce could have looked for hours!

We then headed across the street to the Plaza Antique Mall.
Pierce and Travis looked around forever and then picked out a few tractors to bring home to our collection!

Cash looked around and all he found was the Barbie section!
So he came home with this beauty!

We then ate lunch at Chad's Pizza... It was amazing!
We moved onto Field Of Dreams movie site {No pictures...not sure what I was thinking!}
And our final stop was in Guttenburg to watch the barges lock through the dam.
On our way out of Guttenburg we stopped at a scenic overlook for a family pic...
This is how it went....
So we ditched the kids and made it a mom & dad only pic😉
So pretty!

It was a great day but we were all glad to get out of the vehicle at the end of the day...
....8 hours later... just saying! 😜

******************************

The Wednesday before Thanksgiving Travis and his brother Austin smoked meat all day.
Travis also baked a turkey for the Heitman family Thanksgiving.
Here's Travis carving the turkey and all his taste testers...Austin, Pierce, Makenna and Cash!

Taylor and Brynnleigh wanted to be on Kroy duty (some of us had to work!)

We went to my parents to hang out and little Mr. Leo thought he could fit into the baby high chair😆

Puppy love🐾

We didn't have anything all day on Thanksgiving!
Later that afternoon we headed to Travis' parents for Heitman Thanksgiving.
Carter and Kroy

Rayce and Kroy

Great Grandma Alice and Kroy

Capper and Heitman kids!!

******************************

Iowa played Nebraska Friday after Thanksgiving.
We didn't have any set plans but I booked a babysitter a few weeks back so Travis and I could get out of the house!
Later on Thanksgiving my friend Stacy texted and said they had 2 extra tickets and wondered if we wanted to go... HELLS YES🏈

So we took off Friday morning for the 2:30 kickoff!

Our friend Molly and her husband Aaron (from Ohio!)  joined us tailgating!
It was so much fun!!
The three of us were inseparable in high school and although we live hours apart, it's like no time has been lost when we get together!  Definition of a true best friend!!

Guys got in for a picture too!

Yay for a day away and adult only conversations😄

So.Much.Fun.

*********************************

The rest of the weekend was spent decorating for Christmas, playing board games and Thanksgiving with my family!
Love Kroy's smirk😏

Too many games to count!

No pictures of my family Thanksgiving this year.  I'm not sure what happened there😞
We celebrated on Saturday after Thanksgiving and my sisters family had the flu.
The food was amazing as always!!  My mom always puts on a feast!

******************************

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the ones you love!
I know we sure did!

I am still in shock Christmas is 12 days away!!
We are finishing up our shopping this weekend and I'm hoping to wrap on Sunday...YAY, I cannot wait!  My boys are going to be SO happy with their gifts!!

We are doing 6 gifts...
-something you want
-something you need
-something to wear
-something to read
-something to do
-something for the family to enjoy (board games!)

Stay tuned!!
