Week End Review

It has been a crazy week and this weekend will be even crazier....but I wouldn't want it any other way!!

A while back I was invited to a meeting with all University of Iowa sorority presidents (there's a fancy name for this but I don't know what it is!).  They heard about my mobile spray tanning business and wanted to hear more about it!
I was thrilled to go!

I got a call a few weeks ago from a sorority wanting spray tans.
I said you tell me when and where and I'll make it work!

It was last night!

I did 54 spray tans in 5 hours!  They were well organized and had 2 spray tans every 10 minutes!  I didn't schedule myself a break in there so I went non-stop for 5 hours.  The time flew:)
Luckily I had my SIL Amy there to help.  I sprayed and she did everything else!
I could NOT have done it without her!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU AMY!!!

I finally went to bed around 1am and was up bright and early (SUPER SORE) for the daycare kiddos!
I actually got up a bit earlier so the boys and I could enjoy breakfast at McDonald's:)  They loved it and so did I!
I told myself McD's breakfast was okay because I totally skipped out on supper last night and I was STARVING all night and into this morning!

I'm really hoping they all loved their tans and ask me to come back!  And they spread the good word and I get more calls from different sororities!

Tonight we are celebrating one of my best friend's (Haley) birthdays....she's on the left!
{CORRECTION: Haley is the one on the RIGHT...not left;)  I'm going to blame that on crazy brain and maybe a slight blonde moment;)}
This fun group of gals has a date tonight!  I cannot wait!

**************************

And the biggest news of this blog.....MY BABY TURNS 2 TOMORROW!!
I cannot believe how fast the last two years have gone!
We have a fun weekend planned:)
Blog to follow:)

TGIF to all of you!!

Long Weekend

We had a great long Thanksgiving weekend!

It started off Wednesday night with 21 spray tans here!
Travis had a fire meeting so I called in for backup....
Best babysitter EVER!
During long weekends there are no rules here so the boys often fell asleep in our bed then were transferred to their own beds!

*************************

Thursday was a great day spent with the whole family and really good food!
Here's Grandma Spratt with her grand kids!
Thanksgiving table all ready to go!
I went out Thursday night with my SIL Melanie for my first ever Black Friday shopping!
It was fun but there are some crazies out there!
We hit Wal-Mart and Target (I got everything I wanted!) and could have been home by 10pm Thursday night but Melanie got a voucher for a TV at Best Buy she wanted.
We stood in line what seemed like forever...
...we strolled back into town about 3am!
She was my wing-woman at Wal-Mart so I figured I owed her at Best Buy:)

***********************

I was exhausted the next morning but I walked out at 8am to the Christmas tree up (not decorated) and all the Rubbermaid's of Christmas decorations!
Travis' plans and my plans did NOT match for the day!
He won and I was forced to decorate!
Luckily a friend opened her house Friday for drop-in daycare.  I snatched up two spots right away so the boys went to Julie's for the day!
I am rarely in my house alone without kids so it was nice and weird at the same time!
We got everything decorated and the whole house cleaned!
Felt pretty good!

***********************

Sunday we went to church then shopping in Iowa City.
We had lunch at Red Lobster which was amazing!

We had our nieces 1st birthday party at 2pm Sunday so we skipped naps and this is what we had at 7pm....
This was 7:10pm.....
And this was 7:30pm....
This picture pretty much sums up our weekend!

I hope you all had a very blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends!

Happy Monday...

Thankful

I have so much to be thankful for I don't even know where to begin....so I won't!  I think it's pretty obvious why I'm thankful:)

I'll leave you with these photos of Thanksgiving day shirts Cash and Pierce wore!

There are more of Cash because he is wearing Pierce's hand-me-downs:)
Pierce wore his "Gobble Gobble" shirt to preschool on Wednesday and I stripped him down when he got home so I could wash it for today:)

I hope you all have a blessed Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
I know we will!

A Little Curl

I  have always loved a little curl to my hair!
I have a round face and I feel it looks so much better with big hair!

One of my daycare moms always has really cute, wavy hair.  I finally asked what she does and she told me she has this curling iron....

 Found here!

Like any women would...I went out and bought it!
I tried and tried and could never really get it the way I wanted.
I've asked her a million questions and I think I FINALLY got it!

I've been playing around with it this week and here's what I came up with today!
It's not a crazy tight curl...it's just a nice wave!  Which is what I was looking for!
Before pictures here!

When my hair was wet I put mouse and hair spray in it.
I let it air dry then did 10 curls around the top layer of my head!
I pulled the curls apart and this is what I got!

It's the fastest I've ever curled my hair before!
I had the boys running wild so I wasn't striving for perfection...just a little something:)
I'm pretty sure I succeeded:)

Happy Tuesday all.
Thank the lord for a short week:)

Packer Trip 2012

We went to Green Bay the first weekend in November.
We went with a great group of friends and we all had a great time!
I look forward to this trip every year and I already cannot wait for next year:)

We ran into some local friends while touring the stadium Saturday before the game!
Attempting to cheer on the Hawkeyes...they need more then us cheering!
This was also the only group picture we got!
[Cheers Joe]
 Party bus to the game.
I had the "brown bottle" flu and was stationed in the front seat!
I was fine until our bus blew a front tire and we had to join another party bus.  I got thrown in the back of the bus with three people to a seat.  I have never been so close to losing my breakfast before!
Luckily I made it and perked up within a half hour (hair of the dog!!).
Jess and her super cute outfit...she made!  She had lots of compliments all day!

 Girls!

 Tough guys!
 I don't think there's a bad seat in Lambeau!
This, along with the fly over, was amazing!
What do ya know...local concrete business at Lambeau field!

Hair Did

It's been a long week full of nasty coughs, lots of snot, fevers, whining & crabbiness!
We are surviving and I'm hoping the weekend brings happy & healthy kids!
It's no fun being sick:(

There's my "vent" for the week!

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to get out of my house BY MYSELF to shop!  The weather was crappy but I didn't care because I was alone!!
I was gone for 5 hours and that's all I needed to reboot for the week!

I checked out Costco for the first time.  Can't decide if I like it or if it's too overwhelming!
I did, however, like the 5 pound bag of chicken nuggets and three pack of Heinz ketchup!!
We'll see how long everything lasts and decide if we need a membership!

I went to Kohls and it didn't take me long to find something!
All their toys were 35% off and I had a 30% off coupon so I stocked up on a few Christmas items.
That's all it took for me to get in the Christmas mood....and now I'm done shopping for the boys!

I have to say....on Sunday I spent $113 at Kohl's and I saved $163!  How crazy is that?!
My coupon was good until Wednesday so I proceeded to online shop when I got home!
Can't beat all the great deals....and free shipping!

On Wednesday the whole damn fam went for hair cuts to a friend still in school (Chantille Wetjen).
I absolutely love my hair and the boys look pretty cute too:)

Here's my new do.....
All I have to do is blow dry my hair and it looks like this!  SAWEEEEET!!
{disregard my non-makeup face...this is what I look like most day}

Tonight is GIRLS NIGHT OUT!  Holla!!
We are going to check out our local salons open house, grab some supper then enjoy some adult beverages!
Cheers to the freak'n weekend!

Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Jeana and my brother-in-law Jeremy...twins married siblings:)
Hope you two have a great day!

TGIF all!

Insta Friday

Had another great week!
Monday on our way home from Wisconsin we ran into the president!!
That's him there in the black SUV;)
This is my basement on a daily basis.
Good thing I have diet Pepsi to get me through the day!
 Romp'n Raiders!
My seester sent me flowers for being "Thee Best Sister!"
They were beautiful!
This is how we roll here....

And...*sniff* *sniff* my baby started climbing out of his bed this week:(
I knew it was a matter of time but I was still shocked when it happened!
I didn't believe it so I put him back in the crib and said.."show mommy how you get out..."  He proceeded to climb right out and said..."see mommy!!"  AWESOME:(
So instead of worrying about him falling and hurting himself we took the side off the crib and he now has free range of the room (which is the only thing I don't like!)
He actually did really well at bedtime and slept all night!
I found both boys in here the next morning.  But I didn't care because they slept til 6:30am!!
Nap went well also!  Hope it continues:)

TGIF everyone!

MEDIUM...MEDIUM...MEDIUM!!!

Wow...is the only word I can say right now.  I just got home from seeing a medium and she was GREAT!  She was spot on with everyone and many spirits came through...which is what we were hoping!

Just want to do a little back story on our medium journey!

I stumbled upon Long Island Medium and convinced my sister to start watching it.  She was hesitant and for good reason...  Kellie lost sweet baby Korbyn at 22 weeks pregnant.  She quickly became obsessed with the show and quickly wanted a reading of her own.

Kellie's the one that found Theresa was coming to Des Moines and she wanted tickets (at this point there was still tickets available).  I told her I didn't think this is what she wanted because there was going to be a crowd well over 5,000 people and there was a good chance Korbyn wouldn't have come through.

She said she had this strong urge to go so we all agreed (my mom, sister and myself) that we would go to her show.

Going to purchase the tickets to Theresa Caputo we realized it was sold out.  I knew how bummed Kellie was so I was on the hunt for a great local medium.  That's where my mother-in-law came into action!  She found a great one!

Fast forward to Monday night at 6:30 we are sitting in this ladies house in North Liberty...

She said there was a "crowd" of spirits in the room and they had been there for a while waiting for us!  She said she had to move the chairs around 85 times because they all had input:)  She was overwhelmed with all the love in the room.  Then we got to the good stuff....

KORBYN.CAME.THROUGH.WITHIN.2.MINUTES!!!  There was a strong male (father or grandfather) presence with him.  This male was with Korbyn as he crossed over and has been taking care of him.  We later figured out it was my dad's father....Korbyn is buried with him!  Korbyn loves playing with other children and is so happy!!

She said Korbyn has a strong connection with his sister (Kadence) and how proud he was to have met her before we all did!  If it weren't for Korbyn she may have never existed!  She said to give Kadence lots of extra hugs and kisses because Korbyn is a part of her!  Consider that done:)

There were a lot of tears...both happy and sad!  I knew this is what Kellie needed.  I knew she needed a one on one reading and not in a group of 5,000!  After the medium lifted 1000 pounds off Kellie's shoulders she turned to me and said what a great sister I was for lining this up.  She said all the spirits were telling her I was the one that made things happen!  After the reading Kellie said she could give me a hundred hugs for doing all this and lining it all up!  I'm just happy she got some relief and I hope this is a big part of her healing process!

It was funny because the medium looked at my mom and said the spirits were telling her she didn't really want to come because she knew they were all okay (which is exactly what my mom told us before we went!!).  She never had one doubt they weren't okay.  Everyone (spirits) wanted to thank my mom for always keeping a relationship with them and they appreciate it!  In the end my mom was so happy she went!

Some happy tears came while talking about my Grandma Donohoe...Vonie!  The medium laughed out loud when channeling her information!  She was holding stuff back and we told to just say whatever she was hearing!  Some of her words she was trying to get out were..."BINGO, wild fun lady, tavern, has a full calender of activities...."  All these words describe her perfectly!  As soon as we heard BINGO and tavern we knew it was her!!  She was always waiting for her "big win" and the medium says she's still waiting for it!  We got a good laugh with that!  She said she's always going out with her friends doing fun things.  She and my grandpa are together and she often ditches him to be with the girls:)

My Grandpa Donohoe...Kenny came through at the end.  She said he was waiting patiently to be brought up and he would have been totally fine if we didn't talk about him but that he was so happy we did!  He said he's proud of ALL of us!  She said he kept looking at Kellie and thanking her for coming and that he's watching over her and he wants to take her pain away.  He said he'll always be with her!

We left the reading on that note!  What a good way to end things!

There was so much more that went on during the reading.  It took me forever to write this because I didn't even know where to start!  There are a million other pieces to our reading that made this so real!  So many other spirits came through!

We went and grabbed a bite to eat after the reading and I started writing notes (nothing was taped and I knew we would forget some of the information).  I figure three heads were better then just one while trying to remember everything!

I'm so sorry if this blog is distorted and scrambled but I wanted to blog before this feeling left my body!

It was a great experience and I would HIGHLY recommend seeing a medium!  If you are local and would like the name and number of our medium I'd be happy to forward her info (please give me your email address).

Thanks for taking the time to read this!!

I got two late night messages last night from my sister, via Facebook and from my mom, via text....
Kellie: "I want to thank my seester for setting up the appt tonight to see a medium.  It was thee best experience and I feel like I've shed 20 pounds of guilt.  I REALLY needed that.  I love you and have 100 more hugs to give you!"
My mom: "My mind and heart are full and happy!  Tonight was special!  Love you ~ Mom"

So much fun to experience this with my mom and sister!!

We had a great weekend in Green Bay....that blog to come soon!  This blog took priority:)

Also...happy election day...FINALLY!  I'm so ready for this madness to stop!  At the moment I have 14 messages on my machine and I know they are all recordings about the election!  Make it stop!
GO VOTE!

MEDIUM...or Large

I'm not exactly sure when but one day I stumbled across this face...
...Theresa Caputo...
...and fell in love with her show Long Island Medium.

It's never really crossed my mind to see a medium but after watching this show I'm a true believer!

I've never wanted to do something so bad!!

I've made my mom and sister true believers as well (and still trying on others!!).
I honestly don't know how you couldn't believe in this after watching just one show!
[Show airs Sunday nights on TLC]

Theresa is doing a tour across portions of the United States and she's going to be in Des Moines tonight.
We tried to get tickets a while ago but they were sold out:(

My mother-in-law loves mediums and I've never quite appreciated it more than I do now!
She gave us a list of mediums she respects so I called her #1 gal.

She lives in North Liberty (along with my sister) and her only open appointment is Monday, November 5th!  Coincidence that it's the same night at Theresa's show in Iowa...I think NOT!

My mom, sister and I quickly took the available time and are set to meet her today at 6:30pm!

Sadly we've had a lot of family pass away so we are hoping to reconnect with some (or all) of them!

To be continued....

Spider/Bat-MAN

I was going to leave the (good) candy on the front porch and have kids help themselves (I swear!) but Travis talked me out of it.  He said he would take the extras to work....

Well....this Hawkeye ghost is still in my house and he's still FULL!!

I cannot say no to chocolate!
I already had to hide the boys candy in the garage (for myself and for them....because I don't want to hear begging all day!).

Needless to say all this candy will be leaving my house ASAP!

This is the only picture I got of the boys with their masks on.
Pierce says his hurt his face and well, Cash just has a fat head!
As you can see they are thrilled:)
So Pierce was the kid in all black the rest of the night!
 Kim's Daycare (minus one)

Ditched the masks for warm hats!
This is what I saw and heard all night.."open dis"

Hope you all had a great Halloween!  I know we did!
