Weekend Recap...

Another busy and fun weekend! 

Friday night I had a spray tanning party in Wellman.  Travis and the boys grilled out and stayed home.  When I got home the kids were in bed so Travis and I sat on the deck and enjoyed a few adult beverages and talked about life:)  It was a beautiful evening!

Saturday we golfed in a 4 couple best shot tournament.  We had so much fun!  We got sprinkled on a few times but other than that it was perfect weather!  I really don't understand all the flights and stuff like that but a team that did three strokes worse then us won $500!  Talk about a kick to the stomach!  Oh well...we had fun!

Sunday Travis let me sleep in (YAY) then we took off for Menard's.  Really not the place I wanted to be with a million other people!  We're starting a little landscaping project so we got all the accessories!  We got a lilac tree/bush (don't know what you call it!) and I'm pretty excited for that!  We stopped at Jon's Ice Cream in Tiffin on our way home and had lunch.  Travis went to the farm and the boys and I napped from 1-4!!  It.Felt.Amazing:)  The kids had fun in the pool after naps then we had Pizza Haus for supper!  Great ending to a good weekend!

As I'm typing this (Sunday night) my husband is vacuuming the whole house....I can't really complain about that:)

Germs...

Last weekend we had a rough one...

We had a loss in the family (private family issue) and on top of spending a lot of time with family Pierce decided to share his strep throat:( 

It was Thursday evening and Travis had the boys at his brother and sisters house...along with all the cousins.  (I was at a spray tanning party). Pierce ran around acting fine.  After the Hietman get together the boys met me at my parents house because they had my sisters kids.  Pierce really wanted to stay over night there so we let him.  

I guess he was burning up all through the night...even having bad dreams about fire:(  We got a call at 6:30 Friday morning so I went and got him right away.  He ended up throwing up and was complaining of a sore throat....I knew right away it was strep.  The doctor confirmed the strep later that morning.  

He laid on the couch like this all day.  You know he's sick when he's like this! 

Well...come Saturday morning (the day of the funeral) Cash was burning up and I knew he had strep.  We couldn't get him in anywhere so Travis took him to Marengo ER just to get him on medicine ASAP.  My mom called me and said they were on their way to the doctor also....both my sisters kids tested positive for strep also;( 

We secluded ourselves with all the family time and luckily none of the Heitman's got sick!  None of the daycare kids got sick either! 

It's weird how the same sickness can effect kids differently.  This knocked Pierce on his butt the whole day and you would have never known Cash was sick if it weren't for the positive strep test!  He ran around like a wild man like nothing was wrong! 

Hopefully that's all we get hit with for now!  I'm SO over the germs!

Fun At The Zoo

A few weeks ago (yes...I'm a little behind!!) we went to Blank Park Zoo with our friends The Horvaths!  It was HOT but we survived!  We stayed in a hotel and the kids has more fun swimming!  No pictures of swimming because I was too concerned about Cash running head first in the pool...which he did!!!  Travis was there to catch him...THANK GOD!

We had a great weekend and a few facts I'll take away from this weekend include... 1) According to the boys I am not as cool as dad:( Maybe it's time to start trying for that 3rd and hope for a girl! 2) I feel like paparazzi always snapping pictures and never in them! 3) I am thankful for my friends' dad's Marriott points when we wait until the last minute to book a hotel room in the same town as the hog expo (seriously!). 4) Never follow Travis when his wife is reading him directions!! 5)We have some of the best friends a family could ask for!!!

All in all a great weekend!

Anniversary Getaway!

Travis and I took off Sunday afternoon for a night away in Des Moines.  We didn't have any plans Sunday...just go with the flow!  We checked into our hotel and then took off to eat.  We ended up eating at Joe's Crab Shack (request from Travis!).  I had crab stuffed shrimp but they focus more on huge pots of food.  Travis was in heaven! I went for him;)  The Cheesecake Factory was close so we grabbed a few pieces of cheesecake for dessert.

After dinner we drove back to the hotel, put our cheesecake in the fridge, then walked to a rooftop pub with live music!  I'm a sucker for any and all live music.  This guys was awesome...singing everything from Black Eyed Peas to Garth Brooks!  Just him and his guitar.

We walked back to the hotel and enjoyed our cheesecake:)  I got 10 (10!!) hours of sleep Sunday night!  It.Felt.Amazing!  We ate breakfast at the hotel then took off for our couples massage.  I was pretty excited and Travis was pretty hesitant!  Travis had a female masseuse and I had a male.  Justin (my masseuse) was pretty rough and I had to tell him a few times to simmer down....but it felt awesome!  Not going to lie...I was sore Tuesday morning!  Travis absolutely loved the massage and said he would definitely get another one!  He needs to learn massage etiquette because he kept talking to his masseuse and I just wanted to scream..."QUIET...I'm relaxing over here!"  I'm glad he enjoyed it though!

We ate at BangBang for lunch (a Mongolian grill)....by my request!  It was awesome!  Then we took ourselves and our full bellies back to Williamsburg!  The boys went to daycare for the day (YAY) so we golfed a round before picking them up!

Now we are back to reality.....

BUT...this is something we told ourselves we would do more often!  It's very much needed every once in a while!

What a beautiful day for a wedding!  The weather was perfect....and so was the bride!

Here's Pierce, Averi & Kahne at rehearsal...

 Here's the 3 again on the actual wedding day! Averi is seriously a little princess!  She was so well behaved all day and smiled whenever asked.  Wish I could say the same about Pierce;)  We went through everything..."Say Chucky Cheeses" "Say Weeeeee" "SAY CHEESE for crying out loud!!"  For a 3 year old boy I think he did pretty well!

 My sister was busy being personal attendant and my BIL and Travis had the younger kids so I was alone w/ Pierce & Kahne.  I can definitely handle it but Brad (brother of bride) helped me out all day!  He's a great guy and wonderful with kids.....did I mention he's single?!  He would make a great catch for one lucky lady!!  He'll love me for this;)

 They did so well coming down the aisle! Kahne was worried about Averi dropping all her peddles on the ground and it was cute!!

 The Spratt's invaded TJ's Pub in Parnell after the wedding...before the reception.  And yes, we brought our kids!  Keeping it classy in Parnell!

 Pierce had his first can of pop (that I know of!).  As you can imagine he thought he was pretty cool and chugged the whole thing at once! We're so proud!

 He didn't dance longer then 2 seconds but I got a picture of it!! Yay me:)  Wish he would have stayed out there longer!

5 Years Of Wedded Bliss

5 Years ago today we said "I DO"..........

So much has happened in the last 5 years.......we moved from our tiny house on Oak Street to our new house on North Street.  Both Travis and I got different jobs.  We welcomed two beautiful, healthy boys into this world. We have experienced so much love and joy through the eyes of our boys it amazes me!  I love my life and would not change it for ANYTHING!! 

We've had our ups and downs but the ups outweigh the downs by 100%.  I could not be happier with our life!

Mohawks & 18 Months

The day finally came.....MOHAWK day!!!  I'm not sure who was more excited...me or the boys;)

 Final product!  I bet he asked Shelby 100 times..."do I have a mohawk yet?"  It was so cute!

 There are no pictures of Cash getting his mohawk because I had hold him on my lap.  Pierce has always sat perfect and never moved....not this second child!  I had his hair all over me, drool from his sucker....and zero pictures!

HAPPY 18 MONTHS TO MY LITTLE TOUGHY!

Never a dull moment with this cool dude...but we wouldn't have it any other way! LOVE YOU CASH-MAN!!

 Also want to wish the best MIL (Donna Heitman) a very happy birthday today!  Hope you have a wonderful day and get to do something fun this weekend!!

I'll leave you on this fine Friday morning with my scrumptious breakfast!!  I did a late night Wal-Mart trip last night and picked these bad boys up in the bakery!  They were A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!
