Punta Cana 2015 (Take #2)

We had the best 2nd honeymoon ever!!
The weather was beautiful and the group we traveled with was the best!

Join me on this picture overload of our vacation:)

****************************************

Our flight left at 6am so we were up at 3:30am to make it on time!
We were so excited you can't tell we are sleep deprived;)

Our resort was The Grand Bahia Principe
We got there before the sun was setting so we had to check out the beach!
Pool time!!  We spent a majority of our time at this pool....
It was right outside our room and it had a swim up bar that we frequented often;)
Love me some pool time!
{Hat from Target and I got the cover up off the clearance rack at Old Navy!}

Swim up bar...our friend Felix was quite the bartender;)

***************************************

Although the pool was amazing...the beach was gorgeous!
This is also known as heaven:)

Fun group of gals....Amber, Melanie and Stacy
We decided to bury Austin in the sand!
{ I couldn't post all the pictures because some of the girls have dirty minds and gave him some very generous body parts;) }

Lots of pictures of Travis and me!
We had reservations at a seafood place on Friday.
It worked out great because half our group is Catholic and we can't eat meat on Fridays during lent!
The lobster was amazing!!

**************************************************

For Christmas one of my daycare families gave me money to do something fun on our trip!
I've always wanted to zip line so we put the money towards that!

I didn't realize what I was getting myself into!
It was 12 lines we had to go down!
I was very scared and shook the whole time!
 Before we started...still smiling!
The guy who helped me into my gear starred me straight in the eye and asked "are you ready to die?"  Ummmm....come again?!?!  NO!!! I'm not ready to die!
Turns out he was joking but it was still not the right thing to say!

Here's Austin and Melanie zip lining!
Here's Stacy and Mark getting hooked up and ready to follow Austin and  Melanie.
Mark is afraid of heights and he did awesome!
{I am not afraid of heights and I was terrified!}
I've decided I'm glad we zip lined but I also decided it was a once in a lifetime deal!

****************************************

Hanging out at the pool again!
These girls kept me laughing the whole trip!

Our resort was HUGE...I'm still not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing!
We had many options for food and things to do but we had to ride a shuttle to get anywhere...even the beach:(  I'm the girl that wants a beach view from her room!  Just saying;)

We made many trips to the beach and had fun doing it!
But we always seemed to find our pool;)

This was the only beer they served...luckily it was good!
Maybe a little salty...but good!

Our evenings consisted of showering for the day, getting dressed up, drinking some drinks and finding some food!
Our lobby was huge and amazing and we often sat around drinking and playing cards!

I'm bummed this is blurry because I love this picture!  Ok...I love my outfit;)
The blue jumpsuit was also on the clearance rack at Old Navy!
Also...we look pretty tan (or red!)

****************************************
We also did a catamaran excursion.
We snorkeled, swam with sharks, and held a sting ray!

We were unsure about the shark thing but we figured it was an option!
As we are snorkeling Travis looks at me and points down and says "there's a shark right below you!"  Ummmmm...YES THERE WAS!!  I would say 5 feet from my feet!
There were four sharks total and we saw all of them!

We were all safe in the end so I guess it's all good;)
Now we can tell people we swam with sharks...the boys thought it was cool!

Austin, Ryan and Travis...with a few photo bombers!
 SIL Melanie!

The water was so gorgeous!  I couldn't get enough!

 Lovers;)

Here's Travis holding the sting ray and me pretending to touch it;)
The sharks were in the same water below us!!

****************************************
Our resort had evening shows every night!
This night we saw the Michael Jackson show and it was super good!

Our last morning there Travis and I got up at 5:30am and went to the beach to watch the sunrise.
It was beautiful!

****************************************
We were all sad to be leaving:(
It didn't help our flight from Atlanta to Cedar Rapids was 3 hours delayed!
We put our carryon luggage together and started playing cards!
It helped pass the time...a little!

Never a dull moment with this one....
{Sorry Stacy...I hade to!}

We finally made it home...and we were welcomed with snow and -10 degree temps!
We love you too Iowa!
What a great week!
This is something I would love to do yearly...but not sure that's going to happen!
One can dream though;)

****************************************

I want to thank our parents for watching the boys while we were gone!
The boys had a great time and we knew they were in great hands!
We are truly blessed with family that doesn't hesitate to help us out and watch our kids!
We are forever grateful to you:)
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Punta Cana...Take #1

{In my best John Denver voice...}
"All my bags are packed...I'm ready to go..."

****************************************

Our flight left at 6am this morning for Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic!
Travis and I, along with 6 other fabulous people are taking a 2nd honeymoon:)

It was a stressful week packing and getting everything organized...
...I started Monday off with a migraine:(
I had a house full of kids and I also took Cash to his 4 year check up!
I pushed through the day and went to bed at 9:30 that night!

I hate to admit this but Travis and I never have had a will.
We met with a lawyer last week and got things in order.
That's a meeting I wish we didn't have to do!
I don't want to think about leaving my babies...but I guess it's better we have things in order now so everything is taken care of!
Deciding all the arrangements sent me into a panic attack!
But I know they are in good hands...and the lucky, lucky couple who gets the boys will find out when/if we don't make it back!  Just kidding...they know;)

The boys are staying with my parents while we are gone!  They love it there and Pierce is most excited that he gets to be crosswalk at school;)

****************************************

While most of you are suffering negative temps...think of me on the beach enjoying 85 degrees and the SUN!!!
{sorry...had to go there!}

Check back soon (probably a couple weeks!) for pics from Punta Cana!!

Cash Turns 4!

Wait, what??!!??!!
That's my baby...turning 4!

We had his party at Burg Bowl here in Williamsburg!
Lots of his daycare friends, preschool friends and cousins joined us!
Aunts and Uncles were excited to be there too:)
Wait for it...wait for it...
WOO-HOO!!!

As always, our cake was made by Williamsburg Foods....the best cakes!!
Love the look and feel of this retro location!

It was a great time had by all!
Cash was so happy and excited the whole time!
He was beyond bummed when everyone had to go home!
I guess that's a sign of a great party;)

****************************************

On his actual birthday Travis and I took the boys to Chili's in Coralville and had a great meal!
On your birthday they give you a HUGE skillet of ice cream, brownie and chocolate syrup!
Cash's eyes were very large...but he was nice enough to share with his family;)

For his birthday (from us) he got an Easy Bake oven...for boys!
He was thrilled and anxious to cook up his first meal!
We have used it once in 2 months and I have to admit...it was a waste of money!
It's not easy to store, the food is horrible and he lost interest after the first round!
So, if anyone is interested in an Easy Bake oven I have a great one for sale;)

****************************************

I asked Cash a few questions about his favorite things and this is what he came up with:
FAVORITE COLOR: pink & purple
FAVORTIE FOOD: cake
FAVORITE FRIEND: Cormac
FAVORITE GAME: bowling
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GROW UP: house builder
FAVORITE TOY: Doc McStuffen's Dr. Kit
FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT: McDonalds
FAVORITE MOVIE/SHOW: Sofia The First
FAVORITE ANIMAL: Teddy Bear
FAVORITE THING TO WEAR: jeans and a nice shirt

****************************************

At his 4 year check up he weighed in at 48.5 pounds and was 44 inches tall...both are >98%!!
Hims a big boy;)

Cash is quite the kid!  He is the sweetest boy ever!  He loves kisses and hugs from his mommy and daddy!  Every time we are dressed up he makes sure to tell me I look beautiful...melts my heart!
Cash enjoys dressing up with the girls and has a favorite dress he wears daily!  As long as he is happy...I am happy!
He's doing amazing in preschool!  He still loves it and asks every morning if it's a preschool day!
He has quite the imagination...often telling us tales we think are too good to be made up but in the end he always laughs and says "I just tricking you mommy!"  I love being in the room while he's playing with his toys because the conversations he has between all of them is amazing...and often leave me cracking up!
I love him more then words itself and I know he was put in our family to make us all better people!
Love you Cashy!!!

I'm Baaaaack!!

Yikes...I apologize for the last 5 months of no posts!

Honestly a few reasons stopped me from keeping up!
First of all...time....it's harder and harder to come by!  Also...I felt like I was being judged with the pictures I would post and the things I would say!  No one likes the feeling of being judged so I stopped...

It wasn't until recently that I realized how much I missed it and how much I LOVE going back and reading older blogs!
Thanks to Timehop app I recently read my Valentine post from 2 years ago!  It was so fun going back and reading about my babies!

So I've decided...I'm doing this for them!
I will update as big events happens (big to me!).  It may be daily or it may not be for a week!
I don't care if I have 500 people reading my posts or just 1!  I'm doing this for my family to have for years to come!
{I was beyond happy when I went to figure out when I posted last and it was only 5 months ago!}

I would love for you to join us on this ride we call life!
I welcome all positive people:)

I have a few major events to catch you up on but until I do....I'll leave you with this:)

Have a great Friday and Happy Valentines Day tomorrow!

I'm super excited because I get to help in Pierce's classroom today for Valentine's day events!

I'm also excited because my brother and Amy find out if they are pregnant with a baby boy or baby girl today!  Cannot wait for that news!!
UPDATE: it's a BOY!!!!

Go out and make it a good one!!
