BIG Weekend Recap

We had a very busy but FUN weekend!

I had gotten a pedicure and put my shoes on too fast.  It ruined my big toe paint job so I put a Jamberry sticker on them!  Not exactly the same pink but it works:)

****************************************

My sisters husband had deviated septum surgery Friday so she and the kids spent the weekend at my parents house to let him heal.
I took the boys out there Friday night.
They had fun playing and making popcorn:)

****************************************

Saturday morning Pierce had his last session of Rompin Raiders.
They got the parents involved and we actually had to race our kids on scooters...it did NOTHING for my confidence...not because Pierce beat me but because my a$$ is too big for that scooter!!
The kids had fun and that's all the matters!!

Saturday Travis and a few guys cleaned the fire station (getting ready for the big fish fry this Friday!).
He called when he was done to bring the boys out.
Pierce is always in heaven out there!

My brother and his wife (Mimi & Bubba) finally got to move into their new house this weekend!
Pierce has been there every week "helping" with he remodel and he was so excited when "his" room was done!
We actually couldn't get him out of there!

It was Mimi's (Amy's) birthday so we sang happy birthday to her!
My boys love their Aunt Mimi!
The adults enjoyed a nice dinner out Saturday night for her birthday!

**St. Patrick's Day blog post to come soon**

Sunday night we enjoyed a family movie in our basement.
My sister talked about staying here Saturday night but then we all decided to stay at my parents house.
Travis got this bed out all ready for Kellie but no one used it.

We decided to veg out with popcorn and milk shakes while watching Hotel Transylvania (the only movie Pierce will watch!).
We've had surround sound for 5 years and I bet it's been used 5 times...if that!  We turned that baby on last night and it was like we were in the theater!
Boys had a blast!

Happy Monday to all of you!

I've said this a million times already but I'm so over winter and need spring!
Well...as I write this, this is what's going on outside;(
STOP the madness!

FRIDAY

It's been a long, long week but we survived!
Between spray tan parties, swim lessons, volleyball (both men & women) and Cash being sick I am exhausted!
I'm glad it's Friday and we don't have any set plans for the weekend!

There isn't one show that holds all their attention EVER but for some reason Team Umizoomi did one day this week!
It was complete silence while it was on and I was able to get lunch prepared with out any distractions:)
Ahhh...the little things;)

There is absolutely nothing wrong with starting a movie during nap and praying to God my own boys fall asleep;)  SUCCESS!

Ummmm...blast from the past! This came in the mail this week!
Unless I've been living under a rock and haven't seen an Eastbay magazine lately....but I'm pretty sure the last one I saw was in high school!
I remember looking at the shoes in high school and they were all $45 or $50....now they are $149 or higher!  My how times have changed!
Oh, and I'd also like her abs!

I guess that would mean I need to stop eating cookies.....
The weather has been warmer this week but it's been too muddy to send the boys outside.
I decided we would try to make cookies and they had a great time!
The cookies are from Pinterest and they are blueberry yogurt.
Sadly they look much better then they taste!
2 kids out of 7 ate them....the rest wouldn't touch them:(
{Can't say I blame them!}

TGIF....go out and make it a good one!

Loooooong Day....

Tuesday started out like any other day....
Boys up early, find some breakfast, daycare kids start rolling in, play play play, eat some snacks and lunch and then naptime!! Totally normal day!

Cash only napped for an hour and he kept coughing.
I let him get up and we snuggled for a bit...

...hang on, I forgot one important (AWESOME) part of nap.  My dad texted at 1:30 and said he was off for the afternoon and asked if I wanted to "get rid" of Pierce...  Ummmmmm YES!
He came and got him and I didn't see him again until 5pm!

Okay.... so anyway, back to Cash!
He woke up crabby and things went downhill fast.
You know Cash is sick when he lays down while everyone else is playing!

He continued to be clingy and a hot mess!
I had a spray tan party in Sigourney so I gave my kisses and rushed out the door.
I did my thing and spray tanned 15 ladies then got home about 9pm.

I was in my bedroom getting in my comfy clothes when I heard Cash breathing through the wall.
I quickly went in there and brought him out to the living room.
His cheeks were as red as a tomato so I lifted his shirt to take his temp.
Temp was good (99.2) but I noticed he was really struggling to breath.

We called Mercy on-call and they paged our pediatrician who just so happened to be on-call.
She said to do three back to back breathing treatments and if things didn't improve we better get to the emergency room.

Things didn't improve so Cash and I took off at 11pm for the emergency room.
He wasn't very happy because they were doing lots of poking and checking:(
He was much better in mamas arms!
They wondered if it was pneumonia but oxygen levels were good and lungs didn't sound too bad.
Then they wondered if it was an asthma attack.
My diagnosis: A cold that went straight to his lungs and affected his breathing!

They sent us home at 1am with prednizone and a breathing treatment every 3 hours.
He was all jacked up on albuterol from the treatments so he didn't go to sleep until 3:30am!

The show must go on so my alarm went off at 6:30am (sick days would be really nice!) and Cash was up at 7am.
All the kiddos are here in full force!
He is wild as ever and feeling good!  I haven't quite mastered the art of doing a breathing treatment by myself (little shit is fast!) so it should be an interesting day!

Looking back he probably would have been fine if we just kept him at home but when it comes to breathing you can never be too safe!  I'd rather be safe then sorry!  Cash's health is totally worth being up from 6:30am(Tuesday) to 3:30am(Wednesday)!

Hope you all have a great Wednesday!

WEEKend Catchup

Last Thursday was a great day....because it was my Friday:)
Thursday night Pierce had swim lessons and he rode in a carpool so it was just Cash and me in the house!
 It was rather quiet:)
I came across a picture of this dessert and I HAD to try it!
It was delicious....and fat free of course;)

****************************************
Friday was Special People Day at  Pierce's preschool so Travis, my mom and I went with him!
After we visited his classroom we went to the recreation center where his whole class put on a few plays.
I'm not gonna lie...I was super nervous for Pierce.
He is quiet (I guess at school only!) and shy and I was afraid he wouldn't stand up in front of everyone and say his lines.
Much to my surprise he did awesome!
Proud mama moment:)

Friday night we had friends over here for supper and so the kids could run around wild and play!

****************************************

Travis was at my brothers again Saturday morning so the boys and I hung out in our jammies and laid around for a while!

My mom invited us out for lunch so the boys rested there also.
Cash was already napping but here are the other kids (and my cousin Luke) watching a movie.
While they kept busy with a movie the three adults played a friendly game of Phase 10.
It was a rainy day and was perfect weather to stay indoors!

I'm friends with Lolibakes on Facebook (HERE) and she had some extra RUMCHATA cake balls.
I wasted no time in claiming 6:)
They.Were.Awesome.

******************************************

Sunday was another rainy, lazy day.
We had our nieces birthday party Sunday afternoon and got home about 6 and this is how we found Pierce when we opened the door....
Tired little boy!

****************************************

We have another busy week here in the Heitman household!
I have a spray tan party Monday & Tuesday nights....volleyball....swim lessons....and more!

Have a great week everyone!

Motherhood & Supper

I'm not sure what's going on with me this week but I've been Betty Crocker!
{Okay..I do know what's going on...it's called Pinterest and I can't stop pinning recipes that look good!}
I have made supper every night this week...yes I know it's only Wednesday but that's huge for me!

Sunday: Creamy White Chicken & Artichoke Lasagna (recipe here).
Monday: Cheeseburger Casserole (recipe here).
In the blog it says this tastes just like a McDonald's cheeseburger and they are correct!  It was really, really good!  I used a 2 quart casserole dish and between my three boys it was all gone!
Tuesday: My Comfort Meal...Kraft mac & cheese with a can of cream of mushroom soup and one pound of hamburger!  Delicious!  AND both boys cleaned their plates!
Travis doesn't like this meal so I planned it on a night he was gone.

****************************************

We survived another snow storm!  I am so sick of winter!
I should have taken the snow blower lessons Travis offered because I had to scoop the whole driveway by hand yesterday!  My arms were like jello and I could hardly pick up Cash this morning!
I'm a tad bit sore;)

Thankfully the roads were clear enough to make it to swim lessons in Coralville last night.
I randomly saw an ad for Papa Murphy's pizza and there just happens to be one close to swim lessons so I picked up a few pizzas the boys and I are going to eat tonight!
Look at me...cooking again;)

****************************************

I saw this quote and LOVED it so much I had to share!

****************************************

Today is girls volleyball night....WOOHOO!!

I'm pretty pumped because I'm off Friday so tomorrow will be like my Friday!!
Pierce has special people day at school Friday and it's impossible for me to get a sub here and it's not practical (for all families) to open at noon!  SOOO....I took the day off!  I cannot remember the last time I had a day off!  Travis is also off so we have a fun family day planned:)

WILDwood Weekend

Friday night was a really fun night.
Girls stopped in for a $10 spray tan and they stayed for chit chat and beverages!
The kids had fun too:)
I love random nights like this!

****************************************

Saturday morning we had Romp'n Raiders and Pierce was excited because his friend, Demi got to ride with us!
We checked out the new Chinese restaurant in town for lunch then it was everyone down for naps!
I wish I was part of the napping group but I got sucked into a movie...Love, & Other Drugs.  It was a really good movie and I couldn't stop watching it!

Saturday night we had my Uncle Pat's 50 birthday party at Wildwood.
There was live country music, cowboys and good food:)
Not to mention a lot of family!!

Note to self...don't wear the same outfit as your beautiful, skinny sister-in-law!
It was a good time had by all!
And thanks to Ambular for being pregnant and driving us;)

****************************************

Sunday morning we were moving a little slow!
We attended St. Mattress that morning;)

It was a lazy day with fast food for lunch and major naps in the afternoon!
I got sucked into another good movie (Water For Elephants) but I still managed to take a short nap!

I've been reading all these delicious recipes on Pinterest so I decided to try one.
I, of course, had to run to the store for ALL the ingredients;)

I made Creamy White Chicken and Artichoke Lasagna
It was awesome!  Everyone gobbled it up but Pierce!  It took him 15 minutes to try a bite....and then he only ate 4 bites!  Oh well...you can't win 'em all!

Here's the recipe
CREAMY WHITE CHICKEN & ARTICHOKE LASAGNA
2 cups shredded cooked chicken breasts (I used 2 can of chicken in a can)
1 can (14oz) artichoke hearts drained and chopped
1 pkg (8oz) shredded mozzarella cheese with a touch of Philadelphia, divided (I just used mozzarella)
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup chopped drained oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes (I didn't add this)
2 pkg (8oz) cream cheese, softened
1 cup milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 cup tightly packed fresh basil, chopped, divided
12 lasagna noodles, cooked

Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine chicken, artichokes, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, Parmesan and tomatoes.  Beat cream cheese, milk and garlic powder with mixer until well blended; stir in 2 Tbsp basil.  Mix half cream cheese mixture with the chicken mixture.
Spread half of the remaining cream cheese mixture onto bottom of 13x9-inch baking dish; cover with 3 noodles and 1/3 of the chicken mixture.  Repeat layers of noodles and chicken mixture twice.  Top with remaining noodles, cream cheese mixture and mozzarella; cover.
Bake 25 minutes or until heated through. Sprinkle with remaining basil. Let stand 5 minutes before cutting to serve.
ENJOY!

It's looking like it will be another busy week!
Either Travis or myself has a meeting every night this week.
Some of them overlap so we'll be asking grandparents and babysitters to help out.

Hope you all have a great Monday and go out and make it a good week!

Snowy Week

We got a few more inches of snow AGAIN this week.
I'm totally over winter and am ready for spring!

I braved the great outdoors with these 6 cuties!
They all had a great time and took really good naps;)

It's not a big hill but it's perfect for them!
I often forget how beautiful our backyard view is!
We don't appreciate it like we should!

Oh man...this kid is a worker-bee!  We've called him that since he was a year old!
He loves being busy and doing work (on his terms)!!
Travis works for the county and obviously has to scoop snow for his job early in the mornings which leaves the driveway to me:(
Pierce wanted out so bad to help so I let him!
He was actually a big help and I appreciated it:)

 Mama got some new kicks!
They were $10 at Gordmans and I love them:)
I've designated them my spray tan shoes!

 Another Pinterest idea!

We started swim lessons this week!
It took Pierce 15 minutes to get in (classes are only 30 minutes) but when he was in the water he did great....and loved them which is all I ask!
His BFF Rogan and cousin Kahne are in his class too!
{Not sure what R is doing in this picture...I think he's pulling his pants up!}

They are every Tuesday and Thursday nights for the next 3 weeks.
It wasn't a problem until Thursday night!
I, not so smartly, rescheduled a spray tan party for Thursday night, Travis had volleyball (men's night out...duh!) and Pierce had swim lessons.
Luckily we carpool with Rogan's family so they offered to drive Thursday.  Cash went to Grandma Spratt's and Travis picked him up after volleyball then picked up Pierce from Rogan's house.
I met them home around 9pm and Travis quickly left the house.  He was just dying to get up to the local bar for food and drinks with his friends;)  I'm not giving him any sh*t because when it's ladies night I'm the same way!

TGIF!!
One of my besties is having a spray tan party here tonight.  She did great and rounded up 13 gals!
Everyone is welcome to bring their kids and just hang out for the evening!  I'm sure there will be some adult beverages consumed....after I spray tan of course;)
I'm especially excited for Saturday night...my uncle Pat turns 50 and his wife is throwing a surprise 50th birthday party for him at Wildwood (I LOVE THAT PLACE)!  Hope he doesn't read this;)
There are a lot of Spratt's going and that's always a good time!!  Can't wait!

Have a great weekend!!

PS: I cannot believe it's March!  Where did February go?!
