Catch-Up

It's been a while since I blogged...OOPS!!

Our wireless modem fried so I've been withought my laptop and Kindle Fire for a few days! 

Don't worry...I was still able to check Facebook and Instagram on my phone;)

Good news in the Heitman household....WE ARE ALL HEALTHY! 

Ahhhh....feels so good:)

[ Daycare kids are still getting sick...I had to send two home last week:( ]

We had a great weekend! 

Spent time with great friends and their kids.

Pulled out all my fun-mothering-skills keeping the boys busy all weekend.

Boys (including Travis) gave me a group effort back massage!

I had thee best GNO Saturday night.

Travis checked out the Pheasants Forever Banquet for the first time.

I had a spray tan party Sunday afternoon.

We went to my in-laws and Travis cooked a delicious supper for all of us!

Everyone had their own tablet!

Mama's necessity on Friday nights;)

Batman caves...it lasted 10 minutes!

Diagnosis: Influenza-ish

They tested me for influenza Friday (worst...test...ever...) and it actually came back negative but they said with my symptoms (all were flu like) and the fact I'm around kids all the time they are going to treat it like influenza.

I'll be the first to admit I do not get a flu shot (unless I'm pregnant and they MAKE me)...

...BUT they said they are having people in the office daily who have been vaccinated and they are still coming down with the flu.

I was really wheezing Friday so they gave me a breathing treatment.

I've given my kids many breathing treatments but have never had one myself!

I did feel relief after the treatment!

I was still wheezy so they sent me home with an inhaler (still trying to figure out how to use the damn thing!).

I have this awful cough...the kind where you can't breath deep enough to get all the crud out!

They said to pick up some Mucinex and I'm not sure why I didn't do that Tuesday when this all started!

This was my weekend.....

 After 4 days on medicine I'm feeling pretty good.  No more fevers!!

I'm nervous about Cash because he's not able to get a flu vaccine because of his egg allergy. 

It's really hard to stay away from him so hopefully he doesn't get my germs.

{Everyone else around me hasn't been so lucky!}

Had a pretty low-key weekend and took lots of naps (when Pierce allowed me to!).

The highlight of the weekend was Pierce and Travis going to the Iowa Wrestling meet Friday night.

Pierce has never been to a big meet like that.

I texted Travis and told him to take pictures of Pierce...do you think he listened?!

No...not one picture!

The good news was the meet was on TV the next morning and Pierce was excited to try and find himself....

So this is the only picture we got of Pierce "at" the wrestling meet;)

Still praying he'll fall in love with basketball:)

Snow+Walls+Senior Pics=Random Post

 I'm starting to feel (and sound) like a broken record but once again we have germs:( 

This time...Travis and I fell victim!

I'm starting realize Karma really is a b*tch!

On Friday Feb. 18th I told my mom and a few friends...."I've never had a cold that knocks me on my butt.  I haven't had a fever in who knows how long and I can't remember the last cold I had!  I'm pretty immune to everything because I'm exposed ALL THE TIME!"

The next morning I woke up with strep throat (insert the b*tch here)!

10 days later I started this awful cold...I was still on antibiotics from strep!

I've had the damn cold all week and I'm eating my words...it has knocked me on my butt;(

Travis gets "sick days".....I do not, so he was home with us Tuesday (when I say us I mean the whole daycare!).  We both felt crappy but he was tucked away in the basement and our room getting rest and didn't have to deal with kids.

It was my choice to work so I didn't mind the other children but I tried to send our kids downstairs with him and he would send them right back up...JERK!

Anyway...I've pushed through the week and survived. 

Today is Friday and a new day!

Here's what's been going on here this week!

Cash wanted to wear my hat and coat and I couldn't resist snapping a shot!

Of course he wouldn't look at me!

 We got about 4 inches of snow and Pierce begged me ALL day to go out...so I sent him out!

Pierce and I have had a long week together! 

He hasn't had school all week and we are butting heads!

I let him go play in the basement alone (FOR 10 MINUTES)  and I came down to see what he's doing and I find this.....

He was taking his screwdriver and scraping off the paint!  SERIOUSLY?!

I blame my brother....the one fixing up his new house. 

Pierce says he was pretending to be Bubba and fix our walls.

I calmly told him our walls don't need fixed!!!!

[Alright so it wasn't very calm]

I dealt with it myself but Travis took care of business when he got home!

Pierce pretty much laughed in my face and was scared shitless of Travis...why is this?!?!  It really pisses me off!

So Travis will be touching up our walls this weekend!

As I write this (Thursday night) I'm praying for school tomorrow. 

If there isn't someone better come save Pierce;)  I'll have his bags packed!

Cash does not believe it's me!  Awesome!

I know I need to lose weight but I can say with 100% certainty I will NEVER look like this again!

And the sad thing is....I thought I was fat here!

Sorta glad I have boys so I don't have to deal with self-esteem/weight issues with girls!

I'm sure we'll have some battles with boys but hopefully not weight issues!

Until the weight just falls off pass me a donut and another Bud Light;)

Happy Friday to all of you!

No set plans for the weekend but a super bowl party at Mark & Stacy's!

The only thing I like about this match up is the fact that both head coaches (Ravens and 49ers) are brothers...who grew up in Iowa!

I'd hate to be their mother on Sunday!! 

I'm sure she's very proud but lets face it...someone has to lose!

Lets just hope it's a good game!

UPDATE: school was delayed this morning {NOOOOOOOOOOO} and I had a 102 temperature before bed last night so I'm taking a sick day today.  Really can't take a day unpaid but you gotta do what you gotta do....

Koszta, Baptism & Hockey...OH MY!

Another busy weekend and we all survived....thanks to the ice storm on Sunday to keep us home!

Friday night mama had a koozie on her beverage....so baby had to have a koozie on his sippy;)

The next morning wasn't so much fun.... Cash woke up with a 101.5 fever and wasn't eating or drinking.  My fear was strep throat so I made an appointment with his pediatrician right away.

I had just seen her Friday with Pierce but told her I didn't want to be that mom that gets the two for one deal;)

I'm not sure I've ever been so happy to hear it was ear infection and nothing else!

Unfortunately it was a bad ear infection and he threw up:(

A few rounds of medicine and he came around!

Saturday night we celebrated Travis birthday with friends!

We let Travis decide where the night would take us and we ended up in Koszta (pronounced Costy).

It's a bar out in the middle of nowhere!

Their specialty is Rolle Bolle so we had to test it out....

It was a fun night with a great group of friends!

The highlight of our weekend was this sweet boy....Jace!

Travis and I are very honored to be his Godparents! 

We celebrated his baptism Saturday:)

Pierce attended his very first hockey game with Grandpa Heitman this weekend and he loved it!

His favorite part....popcorn, of course!

Sunday was spent indoors doing 5 loads of laundry and watching the ice melt on the windows!

It was also designated "movie day"! 

I watched The Vow (LOVE) and Bridesmaids (HILARIOUS)!

Not much to report from this week....except Travis turned 33 and we have germs!

It's been a LOOOOONG week and these germs kicked my a$$!

This is my dream....

This is my reality...

I think it's safe to say there will be some adult beverages consumed tonight with comfy clothes and a nice movie!

Strep + Busy = Yuck

It's official...I have strep throat:(

I went to urgent care Sunday and the test came back negative there.

After working WITH KIDS for 2 days they called back and said the culture they sent out came back positive. AWESOME;( 

As much as I don't want strep I'm sorta glad I have it because I have felt like a HUGE wimp that can't get over a sore throat!  I haven't had a fever since the weekend but I've been sweating like no other...I actually took a picture of me sweating through a grey shirt but I'll share that with the hubs only;)  You're welcome!

The prednizone they put me on did nothing and I'm on Ibuprofen and Tylenol around the clock just to deal with the pain! NIGHTS.ARE.THE.WORST!

The only good thing to come out of this is the fact I've lost 5 pounds because I can't eat anything!

I have not had strep throat for 10 years! 

I remember it like it was yesterday...I did a semester in New York City in 2003 and a week before I left (in January!) I came down with strep and a fever.  Exact same symptoms I'm experiencing now...exactly 10 years later!

I guess if it's a 10 year cycle I'll take it....but it still sucks!!
My sister gets strep at least once a month...if not once every other month.  I have no idea how she does this!  She doesn't even have her tonsils! 
I feel her pain now!

Yesterday was Travis' birthday and I tried to look all good and put some tan on my face....

Turns out I still look sick:(

The kicker in all of this....I threw away all my onions last Friday and I got sick Saturday morning...and so did Pierce!! 
They were dried out and I was going to get more on Saturday.
I've since gotten more;)

Pierce still has fluid draining from his ear (SO GROSS) but he continues to be a trooper!  Never complains!
He's headed back to his pediatrician Friday (I'm hoping to take him but I don't really have the best job for that).
They are going to check him over then decide if we are headed back for more tubes. 
His last set was when he was 19 months and I thought we were in the clear! 
I thought wrong!

I really don't want to go through this again.... :(

Anyway...I'm done complaining now! 

I need to buck up because today is a busy day.

I have a group coming at 6pm to get spray tanned...I have a Kirkwood class from 6:30pm-8:30pm...then volleyball at 8:45pm. 

Not sure if volleyball will get played...I don't have much energy.  

I doubt my team wants me there anyway!  We shall see!

Out of the Ordinary

So far this week things have been out of the ordinary! 

I still can't get rid of this darn sore throat so these have been my go to food!

I haven't had a freeze pop for a really long time but surprisingly they are still delicious:) 

I've been drinking and eating cold things and Monday I realized something hot might be the ticket!

Travis and I are not coffee drinkers and I didn't have any hot chocolate in the house.

I made a trip to the store and bought some decaffeinated coffee (or I'd be crawling up the walls!) and bought some french vanilla creamer. 

We got out the coffee maker we got for your wedding 5 1/2 years ago that's only been used a handful of times!

We also didn't have any mugs around so I dug this out...it was a complimentary gift after spending so much on pictures!

The hot coffee felt A-M-A-Z-I-N-G on my throat! I made another pot this morning!

Cash has been into his "babies" lately and I found him changing their diapers!  Pierce got in on the action as well. 

If wipes weren't so expensive I'd buy a whole bundle and let them play with them! 

Why do kids love baby wipes so much?!  Or is it just mine?!

While I was at the store buying coffee I spotted these oatmeal cream pies! 

I cannot remember the last time I bought them so I threw them in the cart!

I captured the boys eating their very first oatmeal cream pie!

**Note to self...don't go grocery shopping while hungry!**

Travis made a delicious supper last night! 

Pretty simple...chicken, noodles and Alfredo sauce.  He threw in some spices as well!

The food itself was great but the fact that he made it was even better;)

Speaking of Travis.....

Today is his 33rd birthday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the best daddy and husband we could ask for!!!

As long as we're all healthy my mom and dad are watching the boys so we can go out to eat!

We plan to hit up Texas Road House and I'm already looking forward to the rolls and sweet butter...and maybe the big beer:)
