Pregnancy Life

This pregnancy is going great and I'm feeling good!

And to be honest I can't believe how fast it's going!

If you would have asked me in January/February I would have never said it was going fast!
But looking back it really is going quick!
{Travis says it's been the longest 7 months of his life...I feel so sorry for him...NOT!!!}

I am 34 weeks pregnant tomorrow (Tuesday)!
In this picture I am 33 weeks but I don't think much has changed in 6 days!
The weather has been cool and I'm glad I haven't had to bust out the maternity shorts yet!
These legs are not ready to be seen!

******************************

We still don't know if this baby is a boy or girl but my gut is saying girl.
Everything about this pregnancy has been different.

Even subconsciously I always think girl.
The other day I found myself picking out a really cute pink blanket...I had it in my hands...then realized I have no idea what I'm having and I put it back!

It's gotten to a point where I'm telling myself to stop because if it turns out to be a boy I'll have a lot of mental adjusting to do!

Of course we'll be happy with either gender...healthy is all we ask!

******************************

 The only thing I will complain about is my heartburn!
It's so out of control:(
I wake up every single night with vomit (TMI) in my throat/mouth and then can't get back to sleep because nothing helps!
I've heard celery and milk will do the trick...and they do...but only for a few minutes...and then it's back!
I've gone without supper many times because I fear how my nights will go!

I already take a Prevacid and a Zantac 150 daily.
They help...but still aren't 100%!
{I don't ever want to know how bad it would be without these meds!}

I had bad heartburn with Cash also and this is how he came out...
HAIRY!!
And those cheeks:)
Looks like I enjoyed my food with that pregnancy as well:)

Speaking of food...some of my cravings this pregnancy have been cereal (Kix), apples and oranges!
Oh, and don't forget the sweets!

{I won't mention the bars I made yesterday...choc chip cookie on bottom then layered with chocolate bars, peanut butter, graham crackers, marshmallows and topped off with more choc chip cookie dough! AMAZE-balls!  Oh...and the best part...they're totally fat free;)}

However, I realized a big part of my heartburn is due to sugar so I've cut back...
...really, I have!

******************************

This weekend we spent most of our Saturday moving the boys completely out of their old room and into their new room...
...and making their old room the nursery...again!
Travis (with my help!) got the bunk beds out of there, cleaned the whole room, painted and put the crib together!

I may or may not have had a panic attack!
Yikes...ready or not...we are about to have an infant in here again!

Anyone else think it's hot?...do you feel like you have an elephant on your chest?...can't breath?
Oh, that's just me?!  Eeeeeeek!!

******************************

After all of our hard work Cash and I had a date!
We went to the MDS dance recital at the high school!
He loves watching all his friends and cousins...and so do I!
It was a fun night!

Travis and Pierce had a date at the Sundown!

******************************

We are super busy this week with it being the 2nd to last week of school!
Cash graduates preschool tonight (sniff sniff!), we are in full swing of baseball practices and games starting next week, there's field trips and field day, and water day, and high school graduation parties, and hair cuts and doctor appointments and... AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!

Okay, I'm going to go get this elephant off my chest!
Happy Monday ya'll!!

Boys New Bedroom

 In just three weeks the boys new room is done!
I'm so glad my husband finally understood my sense of urgency and my dad got him there!

Here's the best "before" picture I got!
{Picture taken 4/15/16}
On this side of our basement it was big recreation room.
We had a ton of toys (now they all have new homes!) and a second living room area.
On the opposite side of the basement (not pictured) is a bedroom (spray tan room), full bathroom, a bar and storage room.

******************************

Things got started quickly!!

{Picture taken 4/18/16}
We had a framed room within days!

******************************
Drywall...
{Picture taken 4/23/16}

******************************
 Painting day!!!
Pierce was so excited to help he had 493 questions before they even got started!
{Picture taken 4/30/16}
He lasted 15 minutes and I'm not even sure if he painted anything...
...you know because I was gone....
...I can't be around those paint fumes while pregnant (**wink**wink**)!!

Coming together!
{Picture taken 4/30/16}
 The boys wanted an Iowa Hawkeye room (black and gold) but I decided against it!
We went with classic grey!
Now just waiting on carpet...
{Picture taken 5/4/16}

******************************

Yay for carpet!!
{Picture taken 5/6/16}
Now all we need is the boys furniture and move-in date!!!

Our new living room area...toy free!

******************************

 It took a little longer to get their room filled with furniture because when we Travis went to pull the twin box springs and frames out of the storage room we couldn't find one set.
It dawned on both of us at the same time we let our niece, Brynnleigh, borrow it.
We felt bad but we had to ask for it back.
The boys are so excited about their new room!
They haven't officially slept in it yet...but we'll get there;)
{Picture taken 5/10/16}

It's clean for now...
...but I give it 2 days of the boys actually in there and it will be trashed!

******************************

It turned out great and the boys and I are beyond blessed to have such a handy dad/husband and very handy grandpa/dad!
They worked long hours here and there whenever they could...along with working their full time jobs!  And it only took them three weeks!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to the hard working men in our lives...Travis and Ed!

******************************

I didn't get away without helping...
....I was there to keep the boys out of the way and I also cooked them lunch a few times...
...go me!!
BAHAHAHAHAHA

Mother's Day 2016

Mother's Day weekend was a great one!

Friday night we were invited out to a fellow fireman's land for fishing and a fire!
It was beautiful out there!

I was really looking forward to Saturday!
My mom, sister Kellie and SIL Amy and I got away for the day without husbands or kids!

We went to Cedar Rapids and checked out the Newbo market and some great food!
The weather was beautiful so we did a lot of patio sitting!
{They drank....I watched!}
Can you guess which beverages are mine?!
It was a great day and a much needed mommy break that I desperately needed!
It was just what the doctor ordered:)

Sunday I slept in a little until the boys came in SO excited to give me my presents!
Pierce made a coupon book at school full of spa services he can do for me!
I spent zero time cashing in the foot rub coupon!
A foot run in bed...how does it get any better?!

We got up and got moving and decided St. Mattress was our church for the week...
...in other words we didn't go to church and slept in!

We took off for Red Lobster at 10:30 to beat the rush!
We got there at 10:50 and it was full!
Luckily we got a table and were in and out within an hour!
Crab linguini Alfredo is my all time favorite!!!

We came back home to change quick and then head to my grandma Spratt's farm to fish.
During our 10 minutes home Travis got called out to a fire so we waited over an hour for him.
I was not a happy camper but what can you do?!

So while we waited I took the one and only picture I'm in on Mother's Day...
...a selfie of my new hat...

He finally got home and we rushed out to the farm!
It was prefect fishing for the kids because every time they cast their pole out they caught a fish!
Farm life...

We left the farm and headed home to change and grab all our goodies for a Heitman family supper.
We were home for 10 minutes and getting ready to get in the vehicle when a HyVee van pulled in!

A handsome young man all dressed up walked towards me with a beautiful bouquet of roses and a platter of cookies!

I was SO excited and touched that my husband actually thought of me....
...and my mouth was watering just looking at the cookies!!

The handsome gentlemen was also grinning ear to ear (I think he could tell I was excited!) and said..."I have a delivery for Ashely!  Are you Ashley?!"

All my hopes and dreams were crushed!

I sadly said "No, I'm not. I think you have the wrong address."

He apologized and said he did have the wrong address... then proceeded to tell me I should have just said yes, that I was Ashley!
It crossed my mind, buddy...it.crossed.my.mind!

All Travis could do was smile!
Awesome!

I collected my hormones and emotions and we headed out to my in-laws for supper.

My father-in-law bought a new go-cart so that was the excitement of the evening!
The kids had a list of who had already driven and who was next to come!

Crazy mom here didn't want her babies even on the go-cart but Travis stepped up and went along for a ride!
I later found out both boys had a few rides without me knowing!
I'm trying to loosen the strings...but it's hard!
Especially on a motorized vehicle!!!
I did what I do best and annoyed all the grandkids with a group picture!
I think it turned out pretty well!

"Motherhood: If you're not on the verge of losing your shit, you are probably doing it wrong!"
Love these boys to death...but it seems as though every day is a contest between the two to see who can make me lose my shit first!
Wouldn't trade them for the world though!

I'm not sure where I would be in life without this woman!
My mom is my rock, my best friend and my life!
We talk daily and see eachother at least 5 times a week!
She gives the best advice and is a great listener!
She often asks if I have a shut off button because she's my sounding board!
Thanks mom for all you do for me and my family!
We'd seriously be lost without you!
Love you!!

I hope you all had a great Mother's Day!!
I'm a very fortunate mommy!!!

BABY UPDATE:
I am 33 weeks today!!
Since both boys were around 9 pounds at 38 weeks my doctor is doing an ultra sound around 38 weeks to check the size of the baby!
If this child is large and in charge like the boys were they are going to induce between 38 and 39 weeks!!
I'm measuring a week ahead so it's looking pretty promising!!
{I went on my own at 38 weeks with both boys so of course I'm thinking that's going to happen this time too!}
To be continued....

We Return...

I haven't had a post in a while...
...but to be honest our lives have been pretty boring!

Not much new is going on...just normal every day life!

When your first grader is learning to tell time this is what happens...
He stands in front of our ONLY clock with hands and lets us know when the time changes!
Good times!!

And we are still on the UNO kick!

Travis and I have actually gotten out of the house a few times for adult time!
It's always much needed!!

The one and only morning Cash is ready for school early...
...field trip day!
He was so excited he couldn't wait any longer for the bus to come!

 And this is why we aren't moving the bunk beds to their new room...

...they don't sleep in them!!!
This was a Sunday evening, after a LONG rainy weekend...which means we were stuck indoors...and I was not going to fight with them about sleeping in their beds!

 Pierce had his 1st grade track and field day!
The weather was perfect and I was actually able to go!!

 The garden is officially started...

Cash has been testing my patience lately.
In his defense he's the oldest one in "daycare" and gets bored...which then turns to being naughty!
My friend Stacy asked if he could come play one afternoon and I said "HELLS YES!" without any hesitation!
I later got this picture...
Oh Cashy!!

This week is teacher appreciation week and we always enjoy doing fun things for our teachers!
Teachers work really hard and deal with a lot and they deserve to be shown appreciation!
We repeated one of our favorites and went with the donut again...

The boys and I woke up early today and were at our local grocery store by 7am for fresh donuts!
They have thee best chocolate long johns!!
The boys were beyond excited to deliver their packages!
Who would turn down a fresh Burg Foods donut?!
Not me!!

I also like to ask boys questions about their teachers.
It's always fun to see what they come up with!
This is about Miss Stacy (my BFF who is also Cash's teacher) from Cash:
What gets me is the "My teacher is really good at.."
His answer was driving!!
For anyone that knows Stacy, knows this is not correct!!
Sorry Miss Stacy;)
And her response to me would be "but did you die?!" Bahahahaha!!!

And here is Mrs. Belland's from Pierce:
I think Pierce is getting the "spaces" thing down;)

In all seriousness we have been blessed with Mrs. Belland this year!
Without going into detail she's been amazing with Pierce and a huge blessing to Travis and myself when guiding us in the right direction!  She goes above and beyond (behind the scenes) and we appreciate it more than she probably knows!
{Prego mama getting all emotional...I need to stop!}

 Lets changes directions real fast like!
I saw this one evening on Facebook and thought someone seriously wrote it for me!
So many things jump out at me!
I have to share the similarities with me and this e-card!

-I cannot drink now...but if I could I'd probably be doing too much of it!
-Cuss words regularly fly out of my mouth in front of my kids...never in front of daycare!
-I totally watch too much reality TV!!
-Naptime is my favorite part of the day!  About an hour before I saw this we were eating supper and saying our "favorite part of the day" and I, no joke, said naptime because that's all I could come up with!!
-One night this week at 5pm (when daycare is done) I went and locked myself in my bathroom.  Guess how many knocks I got....Ugh!!!  Didn't they know I was in timeout?!!!
-I wore the same pair of jeans 3 nights in a row this week...because I'm cool like that!
-I'm totally guilty of failing at the tooth fairy (and Pierce has only lost 3 teeth)!
-Doesn't every mom feel overwhelmed?!!!  I do!
-Cannot get out of Target under $100!
-I would order pizza every night if my husband liked pizza!
-I look forward to Travis coming home every day...not just because I miss him so very much during the day (wink wink) but because for some reason the boys respect him a whole hell of a lot more than they do me!

What I LOVE about this little e-card is someone sat down and wrote this...
...which means I'm not alone and it actually makes me feel "normal"...whatever "normal" is!!

We all struggle in our own little ways...
...and we all survive!

So here's to surviving...
...and welcoming a third child into the craziness we call life!
AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
